THE ART THEMEN (Tenor Sax) & ANDY PANAYI(Tenor Sax & Flute) QUINTET
Manchester born, self taught musician, Art began playing jazz when a medical student at Cambridge University in the 50’s, if fact he went on to become an orthopaedic consultant. He followed this career until retirement at the same time never losing his interest in jazz and throughout those years and since as a superb saxophonist, has regularly played alongside many top musicians including the great Stan Tracey with whom he established a strong relationship and toured worldwide. On this occasion he will be joined by Andy Panayi an exceptionally gifted British musician, skilled in both performance and arranging. Andy plays all the flutes and saxophones and leads a selection of jazz and classical groups.
