Steve Thompson is one of the real double bass mainstays on the South Coast, playing in countless settings in many different styles with multiple bands within the jazz idiom. Over the years he has performed with an amazingly diverse range of musical talents; from Kenny Davern to Joe Locke, Tina May to Martin Drew, Scott Hamilton to Gareth Williams. The Steve Thompson Swing Quartet plays that classic jazz music from the 1930’s and 1940’s with an infectious swing and feel-good rhythm that is set to get every foot tapping.
