While not wanting to be over dramatic, the threat of this virulent virus is of concern to us all. Here at Jazz at the Village we are this evening (4th March 2020) proceeding with our concert and have published our programme for April to September. After serious consideration of the local situation we have decided to carry on with our monthly concerts and hope that this will continue to be the case.

We will constantly review the situation and take note of professional advice hoping that we do not reach the position when it becomes necessary to suspend our programme. We will not hesitate to take such action should it be essential, your safety and well-being is paramount.  We and you, our audience, are of the older generation and as has been clearly stated are almost certainly more vulnerable to the virus and that, to us, is a serious consideration.

Another critical consideration is that if our monthly audience should substantially fall due to circumstances beyond our control  then our monthly income will reduce to the level whereby we could not meet the cost of the musicians and, as we operate as a not for profit venture, we could not afford to continue.

  • We recommend that you do not shake hands
  • If you are feeling unwell in any way, please do not attend and inform us that you will not be.
  • If you have returned from a location where the virus is prevalent or, have been in close contact with persons who have, they having returned to the U.K. in the previous 14 days, please do not attend, again letting us know that you will not be.
  • If you need to cough or sneeze then do so into your hand or handkerchief or into the inside of your elbow and wash your hands thoroughly as soon as possible.
